Into the Dark
Formed in 2024, OPĀKE is a sonic reckoning born from the shadows and stitched together with distortion, defiance, and vulnerability. As main characters in their own horror story: Fronted by the visceral lyricism of the mysterious Mizz, the rhythmic precision of Daniel Molaro, and the enigmatic presence of Christopher Mason. Later joining them, Dylan “the villain” Bres took on the role of their bang bang, pow pow, guy, rear and center. They are figures as elusive as they are electrifying. OPĀKE doesn’t just play music. They confront it.
Eclectic in structure and unapologetic in tone, OPĀKE blends metalcore with experimental textures, ambient chaos, and moments of melodic clarity that feel like gasps between screams. Their sound is a cathartic spiral through trauma responses, taboo topics, and emotional dissonance, each track a confrontation, each performance a purge.
Where others flinch, OPĀKE leans in. Their lyrics dissect the unspeakable. Their riffs rupture comfort zones. Their shows are less concerts and more communal exorcisms. Whether it’s the guttural breakdowns or the haunting spoken-word interludes, OPĀKE holds back nothing, and commands the same of their listeners.
This is not music for the faint of heart. This is OPĀKE: raw, unfiltered, and unafraid.
OPĀKE’s debut CD, Ashes of Me, is a descent into the fractured psyche, an auditory asylum where every track feels like a different personality clawing for control. With psych ward ambiance woven into glitchy interludes, distorted screams, and eerily calm spoken passages, the album captures the chaos of mental breakdowns and the raw ache of lived trauma. It’s not just music, it’s a manifestation of suffering, where pain is layered, identities blur, and catharsis comes in the form of breakdowns both musical and emotional. Each song is a confession, a confrontation, and a cry from the padded walls of the mind.
